Lucknow: Yogi government has taken another important decision to increase transparency in scholarship and efficiency of students. On the instructions of CM Yogi, it has been decided to ensure the daily attendance of students receiving scholarship/fee reimbursement under the Pre-Maximum, Post-Maximum Scholarship and PM Yashasvi schemes operated under the Backward Classes Welfare Department through Aadhaar based biometric/facial authentication.

In the first phase, this system will be implemented in Group-1 courses (all government, non-government and government aided educational institutions) under the Post-Maximum Scholarship Scheme operated in educational institutions in the financial year 2024-25. After this, from the financial year 2025-26, this system will be implemented in all educational institutions related to Pre-Maximum and Post-Maximum Scholarship/Fee Reimbursement Scheme.

State Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities and Backward Classes Welfare, Narendra Kashyap said that the implementation of Aadhaar based biometric system for scholarship will increase transparency and efficiency. He said that the facility of scholarship/fee reimbursement will be allowed only if the attendance of the students is 75 percent or more. All expenses incurred in certifying attendance and on this will be borne by the concerned educational institutions. Educational institutions have been directed to ensure the attendance of students within the stipulated time limit through Aadhaar based biometric/facial authentication system, so that no student is deprived of scholarship due to procedural reasons.

The department has the facility of UIDAI authorized SUB AUA, under which the facility of Aadhaar authentication and e-KYC in marriage grant scheme, services of Aadhaar demographic/OTP authentication of applicants in scholarship schemes and daily attendance of trainees in computer training scheme are being provided through Sritran India Limited.

Group-1 courses include BAMS, B.Arch, BBA & MBA Integrated (BBA+MBA Integrated), BDS., BFAD, BPharma., BTech (Integrated), BTech/BE, BTech+MTech Integrated, Doctor of Pharmacy, LLM, LLM Course in Human Rights and Duties Education, LLM one year, MTech, MBA, MBBS, MDS, MIB, MPT, MPharma, MS, Master of Pharmacy (Pharmacology), Master of Pharmacy (Pharmaceutical Chemistry), Master of Pharmacy (Pharmaceutics), MBA (Integrated), MCA, MD Ayurveda, MS Ayurveda and Ph.D.
